It is with great pleasure that I announce that Dr. Gary Perdew has been named to the prestigious “H. Thomas and Dorothy Willits Hallowell Chair in the College of Agricultural Sciences.”
Dr. Perdew is a world-class researcher and is considered one of the founding investigators and current leaders in molecular mechanisms of toxicity.
He has received numerous awards and distinctions throughout his career, including being awarded a Faculty Scholar Medal in 2002, named a Distinguished Professor in 2004, and then the John T. and Paige S. Smith Professor in Agricultural Sciences in 2006. In 2017, he was awarded the Howard B. Palmer Mentoring Award and the highly prestigious R35 River Award.
Gary has also contributed outstanding teaching and service, including serving twice as Head of the Department of Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences.
